Did you miss our latest AMA hosted by Unizen? On February 8th 2022, Unizen hosted a second AMA with Dimitra. We would like to give a big thank you to Unizen and their community for having us, as well as the continued support!

Q: Let’s start with an intro question: can you briefly describe how Dimitra progressed in 2021? What were the major milestones and achievements?

A: Thank you for having me here today. It’s great to speak with you.

There was a lot accomplished in 2021 @ Dimitra. We were listed on Kucoin, Uniswap, Gate, and Bitmart which was a big honour for us and great validation for what we are doing at Dimitra.

We also won large contracts with the Brazilian Fruit Growers Association which is the 3rd largest fruit growing nation in the world, a contract with India for 1.3 million farms which may be the largest soil remediation and organic carbon project ever, another contract with India for 350k farms, and a contract with Bangladesh for 1 million farms.

Here is a full recap of our accomplishments in 2021: https://dimitratech.medium.com/dimitra-2021-year-end-recap-d7b44b6766d5.

I always like to highlight that Dimitra’s accomplishments could not have happened without the help of our amazing internal teams, our developers, our Ag and Crypto partners like Unizen and Morpheus Network, and along with our investors, the farmers across the world and the associations that work with the farmers.

Q: Really happy to see Dimitra getting the Exchanges exposure! and add to the fact the team has been growing tremendously with business deals… From Latin America to south east Asia!

A: We are pretty excited about the widespread adoption

Q: The scale of these organizations is massive. A chance to change the lives of millions of farmers across the globe!

A: I was in a customer review meeting yesterday with one of our Indian clients and they increased the scope of our project from 1.3 million farms to 2 million. That is just one customer alone.

Q: Okay let’s move to the next question… How is Dimitra connecting Drone Technology with Agriculture ? How does the partnership with DroneX help here ?

A: Dimitra’s Connected Farmer platform will harness drones to make precision agriculture a reality with our DroneX partnership.

Smart drones, sensors, satellites, machine learning, and numerous supporting modules allow smallholder farmers to receive unprecedented insights at every stage of crop production.

Spraying can be targeted, reducing expenses and greatly reducing the use of chemicals. Smart drones can help smallholder farmers scout and map areas, review crop performance, monitor livestock, and more.

Additionally, community members will be able to learn how to operate drones and operate their own businesses, opening up a new alternative income stream and employment.

With the Dimitra platform we are able to use drones to capture images for analysis to digitally enable precision agriculture techniques which truly maximize crop performance or reduce risk.

Q: That’s a well thought-out use-case. The ability to make end-user leverage it ultimately is the icing on the cake

A: One project we are testing now is to combat a major invasive species — Fall Armyworm. Africa alone can produce $2 billion in damage annually. Precision spraying treatments can catch the worm before it destroys entire fields. This helps farmers avoid devastating losses from an invasive species without known predators in their areas.

Q: Next question: Perhaps the biggest spotlight was the partnership with ocean protocol. Opening up data monetization flows for millions of farmers. What is the inside story here?

A: You hit the nail on the head. This partnership has big implications and we’re very excited with our partnership with Ocean Protocol.

Imagine the huge amounts of data Dimitra will produce over the coming years with all our deals with countries and NGO’s in India, Brazil, Bangladesh, Uganda, Nepal, and more. Dimitra’s goal is to work with 100 nations and 100 million farmers by 2025 and therefore Dimitra’s data repository could be the largest agricultural repository in the world.

Our Chief Digital Currency Officer has been a big supporter of Ocean and has followed the project. He started talking to me about Ocean and what they are doing and the idea of taking Dimitra’s vast data sets and potentially monetizing Dimitra’s data and by extension the farmers’ / nations data.

It’s still early and being built out between our teams, but imagine taking all the data from all the nations we work in the Dimitra marketplace and then connecting it to Ocean’s data marketplace and then being able to monetize those data sets. The collaboration between our firms benefits farmers / NGO’s and nations by being compensated for their data. Unlike at Facebook or other companies that are data aggregator business models where only their shareholders, advertisers, and owners at Facebook get the benefit of users data, Ocean and Dimitra flips this model on its head and pays its users for their data sets. From my knowledge, I don’t think anything like this has ever been done before and it’s going to revolutionize how agricultural data sets are being used and monetized.

Another positive effect will be that more meaningful data and insights will be out in the world for people to make positive changes in how they do things such as more sustainable agricultural practices.

Q: Mind Blowing! First of all Dimitra and ocean will achieve sovereign data flows.. then use it to generate insights … add to that is the possibility to impact 100 million farmers

A: Millions of farmers monetizing their data, adding another source of income for them in Dimitra tokens. Revenue stays in a circular token economy between Ocean and Dimitra Great benefit for token holders as well

Q: Next question: How is Dimitra improving farmer stakeholdership in Nepal ?

A: Great question! Dimitra has contracts with three leading Nepalese agricultural organizations; Nepal Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. (NMC), Jeevan Bikas Samaj software (JBS) and Nepal Krishi Care Pvt Ltd.

Dimitra is providing advanced agricultural technology solutions and will introduce regenerative crop and livestock methods to 400,000 Nepalese smallholder farms.

Our goal is to enhance Nepalese farmers’ productivity, increase Nepalese farmers household incomes, and introduce sustainable farming methods for their Tea and Cardamom industries.

We are also helping Nepalese farmers get their agricultural products to export markets in such a way that it will get Nepalese farmers a larger slice of the export pie and are paid more vs now where Nepalese farmers only get paid a small % of what is exported.

Nepal has been great to work with, we are getting incredible support from not only our partners but also the government ministries responsible for agriculture and trade.

Q: next question: You have recently joined Ethereum Enterprise Alliance. Are enterprises interested in what Dimitra is doing ?

A: Thus far we have only had tremendous support for what we are doing across the board with Enterprises, NGO’s, Governments, and the farmers themselves. As most of our contracts are with governments, enterprise level blockchain is very important.

Dimitra will collaborate with industry leaders at the Ethereum Enterprise Alliance in pursuit of Ethereum-based, technology best practices, open standards, and open-source reference architectures.

Dimitra will bring the Dimitra platform to the EEA membership with the intention of growing the Ethereum ecosystem. We’re excited to join the EEA which will offer us the opportunity to leverage the EEA’s expertise in enterprise-grade blockchain and development and to collaborate with their community and explore best practices learned through years of blockchain integration.

Q: Next question : How do you plan to take CeDeFi global ? How will it tie into your efforts in Latin America ?

A: Thank you for the great question.

Dimitra is using a CeDeFi strategy to provide capital and insurance to operations in the agricultural industry across Africa, Latin America and other regions of the world by providing farmers access to new avenues of funding and also to enable Ag-based centralized financial institutions to make an entry into the crypto market and share the risk and rewards by combining exciting new crypto concepts and solutions that will accelerate the world’s largest economic sector and also provide new opportunities globally.

We are very excited at the prospect of partnering with leading DeFi lending and insurance companies and provide these solutions to the people who need them most.

The Dimitra CeDefi loan program is being created to bring multiple technologies being used to open new doors for smallholder farmers in ways that were not possible before. The CeDefi program helps leverage banking and integrates sectors that previously had no connection. Farmers may not have the means to transfer crypto to money. Still, the Dimitra application and its partnerships with lenders and banks will allow for this opportunity of integrating agriculture and cryptocurrency.

We are working on several partnerships with agricultural lending organizations to create a Centralized/Decentralized model that allows those who cannot access lending to loans for seeds and fertilizer. This involves the farmer downloading the Dimitra app with a mobile wallet allowing farmers to create a geofence around their farm.

Latin America is very accepting of crypto and it’s adoption rate is one of the highest globally.

We are also working on some great projects in the CeDeFi lending in Africa and South East Asia.

We have an MOU with an organization with almost 25 million farmers and are working out contract deals to make DeFi loans to their members. Initially we will trial 50,000 loans but this could provide for millions of new wallets and increased cryptocurrency adoption in many nations.

Q: Last Question :What’s in store for Dimitra going forward ? What are you planning to achieve in 2022 ?

A: Dimitra has big goals for 2022 and we hope to have agreements in place with over 20 countries and to double our headcount and many more crypto partnerships.

On February 28 our Livestock and Genetics platform goes live with 4 African nations and on April 4 our SaaS model v2.0 goes live in India.

Over the next 4 years we want to have 100 million farmers using our platform. To put this in perspective, currently the world-wide number of crypto wallets is around 225–250 million so imagine the impact Dimitra could have on the blockchain industry!

We will continue building, expanding Dimitra’s capabilities and delivering real value to farmers (our biggest goal) and improving people’s lives across the world. Dimitra is building an ecosystem and a worldwide community which is the key to our success.

Q: thank you so much for sharing these exciting progress updates. 2022 is going to bring mainstream attention to Dimitra!

A: Media is starting to pick us up, more and more. Entrepreneur released a great piece that included us today. https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/417420

We are thankful for the coverage.

Thank you Unizen for having us and also for all your continued support! It’s great working with you all!

Community Questions

Q: When do you think Dimitra will be available in Lebanon?

A: We have recently signed a sales agreement in Lebanon and now have a sales representative working with Lebanese farming groups

Q: It’s easy to make a token but it’s really hard to make this token valuable? So what’s your startegy to make your token more valuable and what’s your plan to maintain token price and supply?

A: Hi Mahdi thank you for your question. We will continue to do what we are doing which is to sign contracts with countries and NGOs plus farming associations, adding key exchange partners to increase liquidity, continue with our Marketing efforts, and of course encourage staking. We will also be working on securing more crypto partnerships. There is a lot ahead for us to do but we have great support across the world.

Q: When do you think Dimitra will be available in saudi arabia ?

A: We also have a few sales partners in Saudi Arabia and are making proposals to various partners.

Q: How many team members do you have? Do they have enough experience in the blockchain field? Do they have any experience on working in crypto and non-crypto project?

A: We have about 135 team members, many with years of Blockchain and Crypto experience with major projects. I have done over 30 blockchain projects myself, mostly in the enterprise space.

Q: Security is the weakness of any project. Anytime hackers can attack and create huge losses for the users and owners. So what steps did your project take to prevent this kind of attack? How do you control risk?

A: We take security seriously. We’ve had our token audited (by certik) and use audit companies to take a second look at our code.

We also perform extensive testing and regular code updates.

Lots of work goes into building a secure product.

Unizen: Awesome .. I think we are done!

Thank you for having us here today. Unizen has been a great partner to Dimitra and we appreciate all of your support.
